Hera, ESA’s first planetary defence mission, is headed to house.

Hera will fly to a singular goal among the many 1.3 million identified asteroids of our Photo voltaic System – the primary physique to have had its orbit shifted by human motion – to probe lingering unknowns associated to its deflection.

Hera is scheduled for launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Area Pressure Station in Florida, USA, in the present day, Monday 7 October, at 16:52 CEST / 15:52 BST.
