Brigadier-General (Ret’d) G. Michael Adamson has joined Telesat as the new Senior Director of Defence Strategy and Business Development.

BGen (Ret’d) Adamson recently retired from the Department of National Defence after a 30 year career where hist last post had been as Commander 3 Canadian Space Division/Joint Force Space Component Commander until handing over command on June 28, 2024 to Brigadier-General Christopher Horner.

Of note, BGen (Ret’d) Adamson was a stabilizing force for Canada’s Space Force having spent four years, longer than usual, in two key roles. He spent two years as Director General Space/Joint Force Space Component Commander before transitioning to the role of Commander 3 Canadian Space Division and Joint Force Space Component Commander when 3 Canadian Space Division was stood up.

His new responsibilities will include working “to expand and execute the government go-to-market and business development strategy for the Telesat Lightspeed low earth orbit (LEO) network, with an emphasis on Canada, the U.S. and other allied nations.”
